The “Indigo Ocean” theme isn’t entirely new for Oceanus. Casio has drawn from Awa indigo before, but the execution here feels especially deliberate. The sub-dials at six, nine, and twelve are crafted from mother-of-pearl treated with the dyeing process, each rendered in a slightly different shade of blue. Against the black wave-patterned main dial, they create a layered, almost tonal effect that pulls the eye inward. The sapphire bezel gets a spiral cut treatment that picks up and reflects those blue tones, tying the whole visual package together.
The premium finishes and slim, elegant form of the OCEANUS Manta line are now complemented by the soft luster of white mother of pearl and rich Awa indigo blues ranging from light to dark. The rich, deep hues of natural Awa indigo, produced in Tokushima Prefecture using traditional techniques, meet modern technology to capture the depth of the sea and the shifting play of light on the water’s surface.
The dial features a refined pattern inspired by ocean waves, with a marine look that changes depending on the light and viewing angle. The three inset dials are set with white mother of pearl, and each is colored in a different Awa indigo hue to evoke the deep, gently shifting blue of the sea. A sapphire crystal bezel finished in a gradated vapor deposition projects the vast expanse of the ocean, enhanced by the navy ion plating applied to the titanium components of the case and band.
