Bronze is a copper alloy that dates back several millennium BC and has historically been used in maritime material due to its resistance to saltwater corrosion. Over time, it ages beautifully, developing a unique patina. This is one of the characteristics that makes it different from other precious materials like gold and silver: As soon as it comes in contact with oxygen or water, the oxidation process begins. This process gives the watch a special greenish patina.

The patina of every bronze watch will be entirely unique to each watch owner and depends on the environment (oxidation is faster in more humid climates), the type of wear (how intensely the watch is used) and the wearer's own body chemistry. It is this distinctive style that makes the new Luminox Bronze Sport Timer irresistible to devoted watch collectors.

Water Resistance

When Luminox was founded on the Pacific Coast, it was with the specific aim to design, engineer and manufacture the best dive watches in the world. This tradition continues with the Bronze Sport Timer. When exposed, bronze only oxidizes at the surface. This process is the result of the material protecting itself from its environment. This means that the patina that develops is protecting the watch and therefore extending its life and enhancing its durability. With this in mind, it makes perfect sense for Luminox to develop a Bronze dive watch that is pressure tested and water resistant up to 200m.

Design Details

The bronze gives it a vintage, precious look, but it is combined with modern anti-reflecting sapphire crystal, black sandblasted ceramic ring on the unidirectional turning bezel, and 15 LLT's (ensuring visibility in the dark for up to 25 years - no charging needed), making this timepiece usable in almost any modern day (or night) condition.

Movement

Automatic SELLITA SW 220-1 Movement. Powered by the wearer, this Swiss-made Automatic Timepiece has a 38 hour power reserve.


Cleaning

There are many easy do-it-yourself methods to polish a bronze watch that can be found online and although these methods may prove successful, it is always recommended that a bronze watch is cleaned by a professional. This may avoid any unnecessary damage on the watch as the patina actually serves to protect the case. Removing it makes the case more vulnerable to environmental influences and could lead to potential damage.

The most common do-it-yourself method is cleaning it with lemon or vinegar and salt: Mix the salt with either fresh lemon juice or vinegar. Then use a toothbrush to gently rub the mixture onto the bronze case of the watch. (It is best to use a soft toothbrush.) Afterwards, rinse with lukewarm water, of course after making sure the crown of the watch is properly closed.

Packaging

Packaged in our signature Luminox box, the watches will be sealed in vacuum bags. As soon as these bags are opened, the patina (oxidation) process begins.

ArizonaFineTime.com will accept the return of merchandise within 7 days of receipt of merchandise. Upon receipt and acceptance of your return, azfinetime.com will refund your purchase price, minus shipping*, handling, or other charges. Merchandise must be in "new and unused condition" (defined below) to be acceptable for refund or exchange. Special orders are not returnable. Refunds will be in the original form of payment.

If you received the wrong product or a defective item , you can return the item within 7 days of receipt of merchandise for a full refund of your purchase price, minus shipping*, handling, gift packaging, or other charges. Upon receipt and acceptance of your return, your refund will be issued.

 

ALL RETURNS/EXCHANGES

 

The returned merchandise must be accompanied by proof of purchase and all original documentation and packaging; otherwise, the return will not be honored.

 

You must obtain a Return for Inspection (RFI) number from Arizona Fine Time before returning merchandise. We will not accept any returned merchandise without an RFI number. Contact a Customer Service Specialist by calling 480-214-0272 or 1-800-486-3996 to obtain an RFI number.

 

All merchandise is visually inspected upon receipt for signs of wear prior to the issuance of any refunds, exchanges or credits. "New and unused condition" means that there are no scratches, marks, or blemishes; the security tags are still attached; and the item must not have been sized or altered in any way. We cannot accept a return of any item with any indication that it has been used.

 

Return Instructions:

 

- Repack the merchandise in its original packaging materials, including all paperwork.
- The RFI number must be written on the original invoice and on the pre-printed return shipping label.
